Description

The Project Engineer coordinates and manages outside engineering services to design and develop solar PV projects.

What you'll do:
·

Project Engineer tracks and drives all milestones, deadlines, and plan sets with outside engineering firms.
·

Work with Engineering Manager and Project Managers to manage internal and external capacity to meet project milestones. Requests and evaluates engineering services proposals.
·

Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.

·

Manage and control the generation, issuance, resolution, and close-out of requests for information, technical enquiry forms, and transmittals/submittals.
·

Ensure that all superseded drawings, specifications, and other construction documents are marked as such, removed from the active construction and replaced with current versions.

Ensure that field redline drawings of all construction work are maintained on site, and that final record drawings are generated upon completion of the project.

·

Liaise with client, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors at the direction of the Engineering Manager.
·

Review plans and specifications for constructability, site constraints, topography, and risk management.
·

Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments within the local office.
·

Consult with electrical and civil engineering staff on project layouts.
·

Assist with other duties assigned to provide professional and technical support on multiple projects.
·

Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.

What you'll need:
·

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.

·

Two years minimum of supervisory experience in a related field.

·

Three years minimum of engineering experience performing development of solar projects in a fast-paced environment.

·

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

·

Demonstrated experience managing outside engineering firms.

·

Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.

·

An interest in renewable energy development and design.

·

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

·

Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software.

·

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills, including the ability to communicate in a positive manner with project managers, other engineering/design team members, management and installation contractors to foster an environment of superior coordination.

·

Good problem solving and critical thinking abilities and a proactive work ethic.

Must take accountability of own body of work, closing each project by design completion efficiently, while maintaining accuracy and strict attention to detail.

·

Strong ability to apply innovative and creative skills to problem solving.
