Description
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Hot Rolling Mechanical/Process Engineer has responsibilities that include best practice development and deployment, solving problems with global systemic and plant specific focus, driving process efficiencies through lowering costs and improving quality, training operators and other technologists, and implementing new technologies.
The position requires the individual to be able to work well with a broad group of cultures.
The position requires the desire and ability to travel extensively (around 50%) with a portion of the travel being international.
Primary ResponsibilitiesOptimization of process equipment for improving quality and capacitySolve equipment and process problems for the company's rolling plants.Drive resolution of chronic problems within area of expertise; lead problem solving teams & organize support from other resources when necessary.
Develop and deploy Standard Practices for the different hot rolling processes, assist in identifying improvement opportunities, and facilitate technology transfer.
Maintain a working relationship with vendors of hot rolling equipment and be knowledgeable of external developments in hot rolling processesProvide engineering and operational support for large capital improvement projectsSponsor, participate, and occasionally lead hot rolling development projectsBe relied upon by plant resources for advice and direction on capital and process solutionsParticipate in technical assessments of facilities and individual pieces of equipmentProvide equipment, control, and process training to the technical baseSupport Major Customers-Global GRP locationsQualificationsBasic QualificationsMinimum education requirement- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or related fieldMinimum experience requirement-5 total years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in hot rollingPreferred QualificationsMust be a self-starter with ability to determine priorities based upon specific business needsStrong leadership skillsSecurity Clearance Required:
