    Georgetown Day School, an independent, co-ed day school in Washington, D.C., seeks a Middle School Math teacher for the school year. Primary responsibilities include teaching four sections of math and serving as an advisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in math and the ability to teach through Algebra 2. Deep knowledge of one's subject, enthusiasm for teaching middle schoolers, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues are the hallmarks of the GDS MS faculty.     Duties and Responsibilities

    • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in math and the ability to teach through Algebra 2
    • Deep knowledge of one's subject, enthusiasm for teaching middle schoolers, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues are the hallmarks of the GDS Middle School faculty

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Serves as a middle school advisor, supporting the academic and social wellbeing of a small group of students and stewards the family/school partnership
    • Additional meetings and responsibilities beyond school hours, as needed
    • Duties as assigned
    • Attends grade level trips as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in middle or high school education and experience teaching mathematics
    • A Master's degree is preferred
    • Significant experience working with early adolescents
