An Electrical Engineer is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area.
This job entails designing high voltage substations (ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV), emphasizing physical design, protective relaying/control, and continuous improvement, while adhering to quality standards, coordinating with various stakeholders, and applying engineering expertise to ensure budget, schedule, and quality compliance.

Overland Park, Kansas job type: Contract salary: $ per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Focus on physical design and protective relaying/control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work.Perform internal Quality Assurance (QA) technical reviews.
Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables for high voltage substation design.
Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
May perform QA/QC responsibilities (Quality Assurance/Quality Control).
Skills:
Preferably experience in P&C (Protection and Control) design, but physical design experience may also be considered.
Intermediate knowledge of engineering principles related to high voltage substation design.
Familiarity with applicable design guides and standards.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the relevant country.
Minimum of 3 years of High Voltage Substation Design Experience.
