    Description
    We are seeking an Environmental Health Safety Coordinator to join our team in Central Falls, RI

    You would develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. Monitors compliance with safety procedures.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
    The following are the essential job functions:
    • Schedules all inspections in compliance with and as required by the local, state, and federal regulations concerning the Department of Health, Department of Environmental Management, the Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA, local Fire Department, etc.
    • Testing and inspecting generators, sprinkler valves, exhaust fans, fire department connections, and fire alarms.
    • Assist with pest control issues.
    • Assure compliance with all assigned ACA standards and requirements.
    • Inspects the facility as required daily, weekly, or monthly to detect existing or potential accidents or health hazards and implement corrective or preventative measures in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with Authority having jurisdiction over all new construction and remodeling projects to ensure compliance with all applicable life safety and NFPA codes.
    • Responsible for the repairs of all fire safety equipment.
    • Coordinate all fire drills to ensure that all facility areas have drills quarterly.
    • Conduct all pre-service, in-service, and orientation training regarding environmental health, worksite safety practices, fire prevention, Right to Know/MSDS training, and correct handling techniques for fire extinguishers, chemicals, toxins, equipment, and equipment other materials.
    • Maintains and updates all policies pertaining to environmental health, safety, and sanitation. Ensure the maintenance of OSHA logs and MSDS sheets per requirements.
    • Implement, maintain, post, and update yearly all evacuation plans throughout the facility with the Authority having jurisdiction approval/
    • Assures usage of the appropriate posted information, signs, posters, and other materials as required.
    • Prepare and submit facility Safety Committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports.
    • Develop annual safety and health goals to promote awareness.
    • Governor's commission pf Disabilities
    • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Considerable knowledge of:
    • OSHA Standards
    • National Fire Protection Agency Regulations
    • State Pest Control Regulations
    • Hazardous and Toxic Waste Regulations
    • State and Local Building codes
    • 4100 Fire Control Panels

    QUALIFICATIONS Working skills in:
    • Maintaining security, control, and custody of detainees in an assigned facility

    • Performing tasks requiring manual dexterity

    • Scheduling and tracking reports.

    LICENSE & CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
    • Possession of an appropriate category of driver's license is preferred at the time of appointment.
    • OSHA 10 Card
    • Fire Instructor Certification
    • Fire Inspector Certification
    • Building & Fire Code Certification
    • Firefighter Level I &II (NFPA 1001)
    • Fire Officer Level 1 (NFPA 1021)
