    Seeking: BHA Behavioral Health Associate - Outpatient Addiction Recovery

    FT Hours: Monday - Friday 5 AM - 1:30 PM, rotating Saturdays (once every 7-8 weeks) 7 AM - 10 AM

    Roanoke Comprehensive Treatment Center, located in Roanoke, VA, is part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our operation team provides daily oversight and management of an outpatient facility for patients seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

    Your Job as a Behavioral Health Associate:

    The Behavioral Health Associate provides care for patients receiving services, following the instructions of physicians or other health practitioners. They will monitor patients receiving services physical and emotional well-being and report to appropriate staff. The BHA participates in rehabilitation and treatment programs, assists patients receiving services in achieving and maintaining care goals, delivering care based on the priority of needs and available resources to the specific service population of the clinic.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Assists patients by administering basic health care or prescribed treatments;
    • Participates in therapeutic or recreational group activities with patients;
    • Helps with admitting and discharging patients;
    • Monitors physical and emotional well-being of patients and reports unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff, prepare and maintain records of progress and services performed;
    • Encourages patients to participate in social, recreational, or other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills or develop social relationships, teach strategies to promote wellness and independence;
    • Collaborates with other staff in working with patients to treat, rehabilitate, and return patients to the community;
    • Provides medical or therapeutic care, direct and indirect diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients receiving services;
    • Prepares treatment or recreation areas, such as setting up therapy equipment, transports patients or help them move to or from a therapy area; cleans activity or treatment areas and equipment;
    • May provide transportation for patients, as needed, may include driving of clinic motor vehicle or coordinating transportation with appropriate staff member; and,
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Your Education, Skills and Qualifications:

    • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
    • Prefer experience in the behavioral or addiction recovery field.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Complete certification in crisis intervention, CPR or other similar certifications required by the clinic
    • May require a valid state driver's in clinics where transporting patients is an essential function
