    Description


    A nonprofit organization in California is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join their growing team as their new Accounting Manager.

    In this role, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for all aspects of accounting.


    Responsibilities:

    The Accounting Manager will:
    Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable, banking and pension and MOS stipend distributions
    Maintain and monitor all internal related policies and procedures
    Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations
    Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities
    Ensure accurate billing and trust fund statements before distribution
    Ensure all ACH payments and receipts/collections are recorded timely and accurately
    Oversee balance sheet reconciliations.
    Manage the entire accounting operations, including processing monthly billing, reconciling GL vs SL, etc.
    Facilitate operations by preparing opening cash and auditing closing receipts
    Report and /coordinate to the Division Controller all accounting matters and issues, including internal audits, journal entries, and General Ledger reconciliations
    Enter month end journal entries and prepare various financial analyses
    Perform special projects, as requested or required

    Qualifications:
    10+ years of Accounting experience including all major functions
    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
    Microsoft Office proficient
    Strong mathematical and analytical skills
    Great interpersonal skills
    Excellent communication skills
    Must be extremely well-organized and detail-oriented

    Desired Skills:
    Working knowledge of ADP/Report Smith
    Experience with Accounting software programs (Platinum for Windows)
    Senior Living industry experience and Medicare billing
