    Perform personal care needsPlan and prepare nutritious meals and assist in feeding the patient when necessaryTake and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency when on patients plan of careAssist in ambulation and exercise, as instructedAssist patient in self-administration of medicationMeet safety needs of patient and use equipment safely and properlyReport on patients condition and significant changes to the assigned nurseKeep the patients living area clean and orderlyProvide respite for patients family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriateEnsure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirementsAdditional responsibilities as assignedQualifications:Meets the training requirements of the StateCompleted a minimum of seventy five hours of classroom and supervised practical training Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory sixteen hours of practical trainingMinimum of six months experience including providing personal careAt least eighteen years of ageAbility to read and follow written instructions and document care givenUnderstands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally illSatisfactory references from previous employersAbility to work with little direct supervisionSecure with issues of death/dyingProvides a calm manner when in a patients homePossess and maintains current CPR certificationDemonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygieneSuccessfully completes a probationary periodThis probationary period is to ensure the aide is competent in the above qualifications and is documented by the supervisor and the employeeStrong oral and written communication skillsGood organizational skillsAbout our Line of Business: Adoration Home Health and Hospice provides quality and compassionate services in the comfort of home, providing support for patients, families and caregivers in their time of need.
