    Title and SummaryManager – Data Management PlatformsWe are designing Mastercard's next generation of data management and governance platforms.

    A successful candidate is a strategic professional who stays up to date with challenges and solutions within data governance and cloud architectures and is ready to assist in the design of our next generation data management platform.

    You will work closely with various business units to ensure that data is managed effectively in compliance with privacy, regulations, and Mastercard best practices.

    This role requires exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

    The role will report to the VP of Data Management Platforms and will engage heavily with product and data science teams during their cloud evolution journey to understand the information being leveraged as new data products are being developed.

    As stakeholder needs take shape, you will help produce the designs for a comprehensive data management platform (including a Catalog of Catalogs function) to provide a comprehensive view of data assets at Mastercard.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Understand the current benefits, limitations, and obstacles facing growth of our current data management platforms.
    • Assist in the design of data governance capabilities to streamline data governance and data management processes.
    • Be the front-line partner of cloud adoption programs to drive platform adoption and best practices.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data governance and make recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to merge the controls of privacy and regulatory with the innovation and speed required for data science into a lean data management process.
    • Drive integration of data management platforms and data catalogs to ensure data asset representation is consistent across tools for end consumer use, regardless of data platform (cloud, on-prem, 3rd party)
    • Work with peers in data stewardship and governance to ensure policies for data handling and use are understood, and monitoring is reflected in platform designs.
    • Generate and maintain actionable roadmaps capturing specific goals and expected outcomes.
    • Define methods to better connect data creators and data consumers (both people and machines) to expedite collaboration and data analytics innovations.
    • Define methods for hybrid cloud governance in partnership with technology teams so that analytics and data use remain seamless during our cloud migrations

    All About You:

    • Experience in a data governance, data management, or data strategy role.
    • Experience working with data science, data management, or data governance business units' disciplines.
    • Hands on experience with data management tools such as data catalogs, metadata management, and data quality applications.
    • Experience leveraging data from multiple storage platforms (relational, NoSQL, product, warehouse) and familiar with obstacles data consumers use.
    • Experience working within a team environment focused on designing solutions for hybrid cloud or full cloud use.
    • Superb interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to explain complex concepts to partner groups.

    • Puts end consumers needs first to drive solution designs and delivery channels in a timely manner.
