    Job Description


    Network support specialist is critical to help support our infrastructure, which consists of over 100 Linux servers around the USA running stores with most connected back to our support site through the internet and VPN.

    Some of sites have multiple stores connected to the central store over the internet with VPN. We provide the servers, routers, switches and software and support these. Being national, this position must deal with a variety of ISP's with various shortcomings and capabilities.

    Our routers also provide WIFI in the stores, with multiple access points so hand-held terminals and tablets communicate to the server.

    This position requires a high level of competence in network technologies, routing, switching and wireless platforms. This position helps to provide the first line of support to our customers. Responsible for answering all questions posed by customers, which are technical and non-technical in nature.

    Responsible for building relations, understanding needs, communicating processes and resolutions that adhere to our company service standards to meet and exceed customer expectations.

    Ability to travel may be required.
    Duties & Responsibilities
    Configure and monitor networks to ensure a smooth and reliable operation.
    Responsible for setup, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of networks and systems.
    Provide support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving any issues.
    Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in an understanding and concise format.
    Provide after hour support to customers on an emergency basis.
    Identify the nature of the calls, and escalate unresolved calls to the appropriate team members.
    Acquire a broad knowledge of all products to respond to all customer needs.
    Ensure that all calls taken are logged and entered into the customer database.
    Become knowledgeable in building, staging, testing, and repair of new and existing hardware.
    Installation of hardware, data conversion and training at customer locations within the U.S.A.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    College degree with 3+ years equivalent work experience.
    Solid understanding and experience with LAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP. (TCP/IP knowledge with IP addresses, subnet masks, default gateways, etc.).
    Demonstrable experience with network planning, security principles, hardware, protocols, Internet standards and general network management best practices.
    Excellent

    hardware/application

    troubleshooting experience.
    Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of networks, PC operating systems and Linux/CentOS.
    Authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
    Excellent communication and decision making skills.
