    Description
    The Ridgefield Public Schools has an immediate vacancy for a full-time head athletic trainer for the RHS Athletics Department.

    The Head Athletic Trainer will serve the RHS Athletics department by providing athletic training coverage at department events, performing the role within the parameters of the Connecticut Athletic Trainers Licensing Law as outlined by the Department of Public Health, and will follow the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.


    The successful candidate should have:

    • Kindness, intelligence, creativity, a sense of humor and a desire to be an integral part of the RHS Athletics department
    • Basic and advanced skills associated with the athletic training profession
    • Organizational skills and the ability to put systems in place for the overall planning and execution of athletic trainer support for all RHS athletes
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • The ability to develop a positive rapport with all stakeholders and serve as a positive role model
    • B.S. in Athletic Training required, M.S. in Athletic Training preferred
    • BOC Certification, licensed in state of CT required
    • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member within the Athletics Department
    • Ability to use technology and apply new technological skills needed to meet the demands of the Athletics Department


    The Head Athletic Trainer is a 10-month position, not to exceed 200 days during the school year following the Athletics calendar.

    Coverage will be provided from the first day of CIAC allowed football practice in August until the end of spring sport CIAC championships.

    In addition, the position requires 15 days of work during the summer months outside the CIAC-defined athletic school year.


    SALARY:
    $60,000 - $80,000 based on education and experience
