    Electrical (E3) Engineer

    Salary:
    $70-$88/hr.

    Location: Grand Prairie, TX (hybrid)

    Industry: Government/Defense

    Employment Type: Long-term contract with the potential for permanent hire

    Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret

    Qualifications:

    • BSEE with a minimum of 8 years of E3 development experience OR MSEE with a minimum of 6 years of E3 development experience
    • Knowledge of MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464
    • Experience developing EMI/EMC requirements, requirement flow down to subsystems, E3 control plans, design for E3 requirements, and hardware allocation planning
    • Minimum 4 years of EMC testing experience.
    • Experience with typical lab test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, RF directional couplers, Oscilloscopes, AC/DC power supplies, and RF amplifiers.
    • Must be familiar with ESD handling and prevention protocols.

    Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge of E3 effects on military vehicles, fire control systems, missile systems, and munitions, including grounding, bonding, and shielding methods, designs to minimize radiated emissions and susceptibility, HIRF, HERO, and lightning effects, electromagnetic field coupling, Maxwell's equations, image charge/current, and lumped element modeling.
    • Perform quantitative E3 analysis.
    • Knowledge of electrical safety and military EMC compliance standards, requirements, and test methods.
    • Experience performing testing according to RTCA-DO-160 Sections
    • Experience with vulnerability characterization.
    • Work experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
    • Proficiency in TILETM (ETS Lindgren EMC automation software) equipment scripts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design products to survive electromagnetic environmental effects.
    • Develop requirements based on program requirements and physics rather than legacy program requirements.
    • Ensure that designs meet system driven EMI/EMC requirements.
    • Work in a multi-disciplined team of electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical engineers.
    • Set up and conduct EMC tests in accordance with the MIL-STD-461 test standard.
    • Preparation of test plans/procedures and reports.
