    NJ Psychiatric Center ) is dedicated to excellence in providing behavioral and psychiatric health care to our patients. We are committed to being a leader in delivery of compassionate and effective care. We are currently seeking a Mental Health Counselor to work in the Children's Specialized Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Program and in the Adult Partial Hospital Division.

    We have full-time and part-time positions available.

    Full medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401K is available for 30 or more hours per week work schedule employee.

    Description:

    The Mental Health Counselor, under the direct supervision of the Supervising Clinician/ Licensed Clinicians, assists in the implementation of individualized treatment programs and clinical service, coordination, provision, or arrangement of services. Works with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health; Provides group activities consistent with program schedule and patient need. Should exhibit dedication and compassion in assisting the clients. Must also be a strong team player with a can-do attitude and high ethical standards

    Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

    • Take messages, and direct questions to appropriate parties, to ensure that critical messages and questions are directed properly ensuring prompt and accurate service.
    • Monitor patients to ensure safety of the patients, staff and facility.
    • Communicating with patients to help them make informed decisions about themselves, their lives, relationships, and future goals.
    • Providing consistent care and treatment programs for patients by providing required documentation and records to authorized medical professionals involved with the care of each patient
    • Keeping accurate client records, files, and documentation for the release of information to other treatment professionals as needed
    • Knowledge and strict adhering to HIPPA law.
    • Perform Additional duties as assigned.

    Education:

    • BA/BS Psychology, social work, sociology, or related other humanity major

    Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year experience in Mental Healthcare settings
    • Inpatient hospital experience preferred but not required

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
