    Job Description


    The Department of Nursing at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing to begin Spring 2024.

    This is a non-tenure track, full-time position.

    As a non-tenure track, you are not expected to conduct research and publish, but if you choose to, your chair and dean will support you with whatever resources are available.

    Primary duties include teaching assigned nursing courses, up to 15 semester credit hours, per semester. Duties also include providing service, as needed, to your department, college, and university. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

    Required Qualifications:


    The successful candidate must hold a master's degree in nursing; two or more years of clinical nursing experience; and a current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas.

    Those who are advanced practice nurses should meet and have all certification required for their specialty.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Hold a doctorate in nursing from an accredited university. ABDs will also be considered. Have one or more years of teaching experience in higher education.

    We strongly desire candidates who:
    a) have the potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding; b) have a strong desire to work with first-generation students, and c) have the ability to teach in areas that complement or strengthen both our undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
