    POSITION: Industrial Hygienist

    LOCATION: 100% Remote

    EMPLOYMENT TYPE: 12+ Month Contract (with opportunity for extension and/or conversion)

    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    We are seeking a Industrial Hygienist for a innovative nuclear energy company. You will focus on writing exposure assessments, sampling, managing hazardous cleanup, conducting periodic inspections, overseeing confined space entry, maintaining chemical inventory, managing hazardous waste, and providing safety review of documents and plans. This is a great opportunity for someone who has EHS and handling hazardous chemicals experience

    • The industrial hygienist will require working knowledge of ergonomics, chemicals, non-ionizing radiation, ventilation, thermal stress, and noise
    • Develop exposure assessments to mitigate workplace hazards for new and existing projects
    • Provide review of documents, risk assessments and work plans
    • Sample chemical and physical hazards
    • Assist with the management and movement of hazardous waste
    • Approve incoming hazardous chemicals
    • Ensure operation and maintenance of testing instruments
    • Conduct respirator fit testing and deliver safety training
    • Onsite support for chemical and hazardous waste cleanup response
    • Conduct safety walkthroughs and audits

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environment Health and Safety
    • 5 years relevant experience working in an industrial hygiene discipline
    • Strong understanding of 29 CFR 1910 & CFR & 40CFR is a plus)
    • Understanding of occupational exposure limits (ACGIH TLV, OSHA PEL)
    • Familiar with common IH calculations is required
