PURPOSE
The Global Manager, Infrastructure & Architecture will lead a global team charged with designing, implementing, and maintaining a foundational, standardized, global computing environment (ITIL, ITSM, DCIM, etc.), while delivering quality processes, controls, and system support to SMC globally.
The Global IT – Global Manager, Infrastructure &Architecture position requires a strong business and technical knowledge, and a thorough understanding of variousserver, storage, and network platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
STRATEGIC PLANNING & BUDGETING
Supervise the development and operation of internal controls to prevent misstatements, assess risks, and work to improve anydeficiencies.
Participate in the development of the annual strategic plan and associated Infrastructure and Architecture capital and expensebudgets for Global IT
Provide leadership and be accountable for defining and improving methods / frameworks for infrastructure management (ITIL)
Accountable for documenting and diagraming network architecture topologies and configurations with narratives describing thefunctions of the design.
Identify best practice standards, guidelines, procedures, and tools for analyzing, designing, and implementing scalablecomputing infrastructure globally.
All other duties as assigned
TEAM MANAGEMENT
Actively engage with all IT teams and business leaders to understand the SMC business, plans for growth, and strategicpriorities, to understand how IT plays a role in those initiatives.
Coach, mentor, and motivate numerous direct and indirect reports to meet specific objectives as derived by the businessmission, values, and principles.
Build an effective team and influence team members to take positive action, accountability, and responsibility for their workperformance; provide constructive feedback as needed.
Develop career paths and succession plans and recommend development opportunities to team members to enhance theirpersonal and professional growth.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Off-hour meetings and work to accommodate global time zones.
Carry mobile phone during work and off-hours.
Collaborative team environment in a shared workspace
General office, computer room, warehouse, and factory areas
Infrequent off-hours work and local/international travel as required.
Able to sit for extended periods of time.
Minimum lifting requirements of 15 pounds
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
10+ years combined experience in information technology, security operations and senior leadership.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent industry certification
Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of the latest versions of the various infrastructure frameworks and best practices (i.e. ITIL, ITSM, DCIM)
Experience in risk assessment, control design, and reporting
Ability to travel abroad.
Ability to effectively communicate with all associates.
