    Title: Automation Engineer

    Location: Elkhart, IN

    Educational Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering

    Years of Experience: 4-5 years of relevant experience

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Translate user requirements into functional designs and technical concepts
    • Provide advanced technical solutions and lead teams through processes
    • Demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles
    • Devise innovative solutions to manufacturing problems
    • Apply product design and assembly knowledge to the manufacturing process
    • Conduct plant assessments and understand customer requirements to define DOU/SOW
    • Support in preparing RFQ/RFIs to vendors and evaluate vendor quotes
    • Assist in preparing proposals to customers and contribute to winning projects
    • Coordinate offshore and vendor teams based on project requirements
    • Support Project Status Reviews and Senior Management Reviews
    • Ensure customer satisfaction and foster future engagement
    • Travel across multiple locations as needed

    Skills Required (Manufacturing Automation):

    • Experience in custom-engineered solution businesses and factory automation
    • Developing system integration solutions for assembly line automation projects
    • Fundamental knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and control automation
    • Understanding of the automation ecosystem
    • Automation high-level concept preparation
    • Automation ROM and BOM high-level estimation
    • Knowledge of low-cost automation, fixture design, SPM, and testing machine
    • Robotics and collaborative robot automation experience
    • Process automation expertise
    • Industry experience in Truck & Off-Highway Manufacturing (other industries are advantageous)
    • Knowledge of Operation technology communication protocols
    • Automation cell integration experience (robotics/pneumatic/PLC/safety, etc.)
    • Integration experience in robotics and linear motion systems
    • Competency in performing value stream mapping and leading lean manufacturing initiatives
