    GROUNDS KEEPER

    Reports To: Community Manager

    Position Overview:

    In this role, you will be relied upon to keep our community grounds in tip-top shape and well-maintained. That includes but is not limited to, cleaning up trash and debris, raking leaves, sweeping walkways, mowing lawns, and trimming trees and hedges. In addition, you will also be adding curb appeal to the community by planting flowers, grass, bushes, etc. Keeping plants in top form by watering and applying fertilizer or pesticides will be required as well.

    Essential Functions:

  • Complete all work in a timely manner, without sacrificing quality
  • Keep the community grounds, common areas, and vacant lots clean and free of debris and trash
  • Maintain tree limbs, rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed
  • Mow lawns and trim edges around walks, flower beds, etc.
  • Landscaping, including but not limited to, planting flowers, grass, bushes, etc.
  • Water plants and grass, and apply fertilizer or pesticides as needed
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping
  • Follow safety precautions including but not limited to, chemical use and OSHA requirements
  • Maintain all OSHA and PPE equipment as required by Company/State standards
  • Maintain professional behavior which does not interfere with the individual's work, the work of another team- member, or the quality of life for community residents
  • Maintain community assets including grounds, buildings, equipment, pools, etc.
  • Respond to emergency calls as directed by management if applicable
  • The use of electronic devices, such as a work tablet or computer, for the tracking and logging of work orders and daily email management
  • Notify management of any incident/accident immediately
  • Work effectively with all team members to uphold the YES standards of community appearance
  • Effectively communicate with vendors and residents
  • Assist with maintenance tasks, including but not limited to delivering notices and conducting meter reads as directed by the community manager
  • Additional duties as assigned by management and subject to change
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Use hands, including fingers, to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls which may be of a repetitive motion
  • Reach with arms and hands
  • Frequently required to be flexible by climbing, balancing, or occasionally crawling in confined spaces
  • Vision abilities include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Required to regularly push, pull, lift, or carry 50 lbs. Occasionally up to 85 lbs.
  • Use of potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to climb ladders, occasionally up to an 8-foot ladder safely
  • Education and Experience:

  • A valid in-state driver's license is required
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
