    Description

    Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Family Law Paralegal, you will provide essential support to attorneys in all aspects of family law practice, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and adoption cases. Your expertise in family law procedures, legal research, and client management will be instrumental in helping our firm deliver high-quality legal services to clients navigating challenging family law matters.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing a caseload of family law matters, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, paternity actions, and domestic violence cases. Organize case files, maintain calendars, and track deadlines to ensure timely and accurate case progression.
    2. Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case status, and address inquiries regarding legal procedures and documentation. Maintain regular contact with clients to offer support, guidance, and reassurance throughout the legal process.
    3. Legal Research: Conduct legal research and analysis on various family law issues, statutes, and case law precedents. Prepare legal memoranda, case summaries, and research reports to support attorneys in case preparation and strategy development.
    4. Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents and pleadings for filing with the court, including petitions, complaints, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.
    5. Discovery Process: Assist in the discovery process by drafting and responding to discovery requests, preparing interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and subpoenas. Manage document production and review processes to gather evidence and support case preparation.
    6. Court Filings and Proceedings: File legal documents with the court electronically or in person, and coordinate service of process on opposing parties. Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and other court proceedings, and provide courtroom support as needed.
    7. Financial Disclosure: Assist in the preparation of financial disclosures, including income and expense declarations, asset and debt schedules, and child support worksheets. Coordinate with clients to gather financial documents and ensure compliance with disclosure requirements.
    8. Settlement Negotiations: Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions to resolve family law matters amicably and efficiently. Draft settlement proposals, review proposed agreements, and facilitate communication between parties to reach mutually acceptable resolutions.
