    Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive educational environment for students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with other educators, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements. This position is a full-time, onsite role within the Akron, OH school district.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement effective IEPs for students with special needs

    • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic and behavioral areas
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive classroom practices
    • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student performance and achievements
    • Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
    • Valid state certification in Special Education
    • Prior experience working with students with diverse learning needs
    • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
