    Description

    As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the Chief Executive Officer and assumes a key role in the overall strategic and financial management of the school.

    The CFO has primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the institution.
    Responsibilities
    Advise Senior Leadership Team, Board of Trustees, and Board Finance Committee on the financial implications of school decisions and activities
    Lead the development and continuous evaluation of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives
    Responsible for accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and risk management
    Ensure that effective internal controls are in place
    Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
    Direct supervision of the Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources staff
    Oversee relationships with all contracted third-party service providers

    Requirements
    Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field; CPA preferred
    6+ years in financial leadership, preferred for a school
    Experience in non-profit financial management and accounting
    Detail and results-oriented
    Critical thinking/reasoning skills
    Strong communication skills
    Must be able to embrace and advocate for the mission and core values of the School
