- Execute HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
- Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to recruiting, retention, and succession planning
- Manage the talent acquisition process for other departments, which includes collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Assist with the training of new staff in the department
- Provide support and guidance to the VP of Administration, management, and other staff when complex and sensitive issues arise
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
- Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Possess high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
- Manufacturing or similar background is required
- Executive presence and comfortable interacting with board members
- 3-5 years of human resource experience
- Experience as an HR generalist required
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
