    Job Description
    OLA has an immediate need for fire protection engineers [PL1] with five to eight (5-8) years of U.S.

    Consulting experience in fire protection system design services including but not limited to water-based and non-water-based systems, fire pumps, and fire alarm systems.

    The candidate shall be responsible for conducting building code reviews and analyses, performing and reviewing hydraulic calculations.

    The candidate will be expected to work closely and coordinate with teams in both the NYC and Westchester Offices and be available in both offices as needed.

    Responsibilities will include field investigation, analysis, design, production of contract documents, management and direction of junior engineers, construction administration services, and project management services.

    The candidate shall be able to work on multiple projects and must have great communications skills for relating to clients, other design professionals, contractors, vendors and his/her peers.


    Qualifications:

    Minimum:
    Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering.
    Five to Eight years of US Consulting Engineering experience will be considered.
    Familiarity with New York State and New York City codes as well as International Building Codes
    PE Preferred, or ability to obtain.

    Experience in fire protection sprinkler and standpipe system design and performing hydraulic calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

    Experience in the preparation of construction documents including floor plans and specifications.
    Experience conducting building code analyses, on-site investigations and inspections.
    Working knowledge of AutoCAD required, knowledge of Revit a plus
    Demonstrated capabilities in professional service business processes.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    Excellent organizational skills.
