    Job Summary

    Old Dominion Freight Line is recruiting for an IT PMO Data & Tools Analyst.

    This role will be responsible for supporting PMO tools and processes utilized across OD, to support the portfolio data governance process, and turn the portfolio needs into data models and related technical requirement documents for analytical applications and dashboards.

    This role supports the PMO processes, documents and trains on the processes, is the ServiceNow SPM primary support contact within the PMO in addition to analyzing portfolio data and working with the development team to identify new reporting dashboard needs in the SPM tool.

    The PMO Data and Tools Analyst partners with Portfolio stakeholders, IT leadership and IT application delivery partners to support and implement processes to improve the project management of large IT projects.

    Primary Responsibilities

    PPM Tool

    Service Now SPM experience required

    leveraging all modules from ideation to portfolio reporting and road-mapping.
    Work with stakeholders to review report and dashboard requirements and partner with the development team to get these implemented in SPM
    Manage tools outside of the SPM tool leveraged by the OD IT team to manage and report on portfolio health

    Project Management Tools:
    Jira and Confluence
    SharePoint

    site creation and administration
    Additional proprietary portfolio tools created using tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, etc
    Work with leadership and portfolio team members to develop and prioritize analytic application requirements and establish governance processes as required

    Preparing data and reports for project managers, the PMO team, project stakeholders, and the C-suite, with an understanding of the different needs of each.

    Capturing, sorting, improving, reporting, and analyzing the data outputs from projects under the PMO.
    Managing data held in Excel or Sheets and generating regular and ad-hoc reports and analysis from the information.
    Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of supported business area(s) with the ability to analyze and solve complex data problems
    Create, manage, and maintain MS Excel tools that require complex data loads

    pivot tables, master of V-lookups and matches, create code to drive additional functionality within MS Excel
    Create customized reporting using Power BI or another automated reporting tool capable of creating graphs, charts, tables to visually present the data
    Leverage automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources
    Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
    Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
    Filter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems
    Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for diagnosis and prediction
    Assigning numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time
    Preparing reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
    Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to make important decisions based on various facts and trends
    Participate in the creation, maintenance, and publication of data standards
    Provide thorough acceptance criteria for all data related requirements and data validation from source system to report display
    Create and Maintain Business Process documentation and Data Models as needed
    Participate in all customer demos for completed application requirements
    Participate in the change management process by ensuring that documented processes are followed
    Ensure that all required documentation is complete and stored appropriately
    Job Qualifications


    Education:
    Associate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
    Bachelors Degree preferred

    Experience:

    5+ years of Project Management or PMO Analyst experience supporting a PMO including the tools and processes used with a mature PMO (Stage Gating, Portfolio, Program and Project Governance, PMO deliverables, tools and best practices)
    Experience with ServiceNow SPM and being the primary PMO support contact for questions around the tool or processes
    5+ years partnering with IT and Business partners to train and support them on tools and processes used by the PMO in addition to report generation at the portfolio, program and project level
    Excellent knowledge of project management strategies, processes, and tools.
    Ability to analyze a range of complex data and make decisions based on analytical findings.
    Expert in Excel

    pivot tables, master of V-lookups and matches, creating VBA code to drive functionality in Excel
    Demonstrated ability to develop and document requirements and specifications
    Experience working in an agile development environment
    Experience with PC tools including Microsoft Word, EXCEL, and PowerPoint
    Experience working with Business Intelligence and Analytic Toolsets preferred (Power BI

    build and extract dashboards)
    Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, Expert in communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
