Reporting to a higher authority, Building Project Coordinator II professionals are responsible for architectural and/or drafting designs of various building and project types, including capital construction, renovations, maintenance, and repairs. They are also tasked with reviewing architectural aspects of intricate building designs and offering correlated services.

Job seekers meeting the basic requirements and possessing a background in interior design are strongly encouraged to submit their applications.

Examples of Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of

Architectural planning, design, drafting, and detailing

Building construction and materials

Building codes concerning architectural details for safety and life issues

Personnel management principles, training, lead direction, and supervision techniques

Ability to

Produce architectural drawings and specifications

Lead, supervise, and train staff

Analyze situations effectively and make appropriate decisions

Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, consultants, and the public

Compile technical reports and correspondence

Communicate proficiently in English through writing, speaking, and reading

Employment Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Either: 1. Two years of experience in Building Project Coordinator I role in Sacramento County service
Or: 2. A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university

And
Two years of experience in architectural drafting, specification writing, and cost estimation under a licensed architect or engineer's supervision (confirmed in writing)

Or: 3. An AA or AS Technology Degree in Architectural Drafting or related field from a two-year college or technical school
And
Four years of experience in architectural drafting, specification writing, and cost estimation under a licensed architect or engineer's supervision (verified in writing)

Or: 4. Six years of experience in architectural drafting, specification writing, and cost estimation under a licensed architect or engineer's supervision (confirmed in writing)

Note: When 'experience' is mentioned, it refers to full-time paid experience, unless stated otherwise. Part-time paid experience may be considered if it meets the total experience requirements.

Probationary Period

The probation period for this role is six (6) months.
