Job Description:

As a Part Time Corrections Officer at Davison County, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and orderliness of the corrections facility. You will monitor the activities of inmates, enforce facility rules and regulations, and ensure a safe environment for all staff and inmates.

• Supervise inmate activities, including meals, recreation, and visitations.
• Conduct routine security checks and inspections to prevent escapes and maintain a secure facility.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain control during critical incidents, such as fights or disturbances.
• Monitor inmate behavior and report any unusual occurrences or signs of potential conflict.
• Escort inmates to various locations within the facility securely and in a timely manner.
• Assist in the intake and release process, including search and inventory of personal belongings.
• Document incidents, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with fellow officers and staff to develop and implement strategies for maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Attend trainings and workshops to enhance knowledge of corrections practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history check.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
• Physical fitness and ability to handle emergency situations.
• Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred but not required.
