- Receive and appropriately handle patients, families, facilities, community calls, physicians and attorneys phone and in person and provide information and resources as indicated.
- Extract data and maintain databases - claims / and other legal functions as requested by director.
- Manage and carry out all administrative support functions within the Risk Management Department including, but not limited to, processing requests, mail, filing, typing, research as requested, copying, faxing. Handle repair and service of office machinery.
- Maintain policies / procedures and documents to support attorney requests.
- Schedule attorney meetings, depositions and director meetings as required for defense of claims.
- Serve as liaison between Risk Office and hospital's insurance brokers and insurance carriers to report claims, Potentially Compensable Events (PCEs), and new litigation filings.
- Education: High School diploma with additional business/medical secretarial training preferable.
- Experience. At least three years of professional secretarial experience. Healthcare and or legal background a plus.

- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Typing/word processing (65 words per minute)
