    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    Under the supervisionand direction of the Senior Director of Development, the GiftOfficer (GO) is responsible for managing relationships withprospects determined to have the ability to make gifts at or abovethe $10,000 level.

    This position is charged with developing andimplementing strategies for securing financial support from aportfolio of prospects, including identifying, qualifying,cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts for PCOM from alumniand friends.

    The GO will work independently and also as a member ofthe Institutional Advancement team, and coordinate his/heractivities with those of other units in Institutional Advancementand other units at PCOM.


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Work independently and be self-motivated in initiating contactswith potential donors.

    Manage a case load of 150 active assigned gift prospects, andimplement and execute strategies for solicitation of theseprospects, ensuring regular interaction through personal visits,virtual visits, mail/email, telephone, campus visits, and otherevents.

    Assume and achieve annual fundraising and activity goals.
    Performance Expectations document attached.
    Draft proposals, gift agreements, briefings, contact reportsand other correspondence for prospects.

    Make decisions on cultivation time committed versus expectedgift response, determine who needs to be involved in therelationship with the prospective donor and decide the mosteffective and productive use of travel time.

    Work in a collegial manner with the development team, keyadministrators, and volunteers in creating and implementingstrategies for cultivation, solicitation, and closure.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelors degree required.
    A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, preferablyin higher education, and/or sales experience in cultivating andsoliciting leads.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising and an abilityto participate in all aspects of the gift cycle.

    Knowledge of IRS and FASB laws, rules and regulations isrecommended, along with thorough knowledge of fundraising andsolicitation policies, procedures and methods.

    Self-driven, pro-active, with an ability to work effectivelyand independently.
    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work withdiverse communities.
    Outstanding verbal, written, communication, listening, andorganizational skills.

    Competence with various computer and software programs with theability to effectively utilize technology including, but notlimited to, Google Workspace, MS Office, and Salesforce.

    Ability to work evenings and weekends.

    Adrivers license is required

    Work is normallyperformed in a typical office work environment with the possibilityof working from a remote location
