Camp Director - Escondido, United States - Mission Edge

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description
About Camp Exprésate Act, Sing, Dance, Create Let your story come to life through the art of acting, music, movement, and design at Camp Exprésate, CCAE Theatricals' one-of-a-kind Creative Youth Development theatre camp for beginner and intermediate level 2nd-4th graders. Exprésate means Express Yourself. At Camp Exprésate, we do that every day, in every way. In a ratio of 10:1 for instructional periods, campers create theatre, music, dance, and scenery with passionate teaching artists who guide them on a journey of self-expression and learning. No matter campers' exposure to the performing arts, Camp Exprésate has a place for everyone Campers also work closely with their Camp Counselor, whose main job is to create a positive, safe, and fun experience for their group of campers. With others in their age group, campers will enjoy rotations of instruction and creation in music-making, acting, dancing, and improvisation, all to empower them to tell stories and express themselves. There are built-in opportunities to play, create, perform, and build connections with peers. About the role of Camp Director: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a seasonal Camp Director for Camp Exprésate. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our camp programs, including planning, organizing, and implementing a wide range of engaging and educational activities for children grades 2-4. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, leadership experience, operations and management experience, customer service, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with young people in a fun and supportive environment. The Camp Director will oversee all camp staff, including an operations specialist, office staff, camp counselors, teaching artists, and a curriculum specialist. Because we serve a very high percentage of Spanish-speaking families, being bilingual in both English and Spanish is a requirement for this position. When camp weeks are in session, the Camp Director will likely work between 9 and 10 hours per day. During the weeks leading up to camp, the Camp Director will work up to 5 hours per week on a flexible schedule. The schedule is ideal for someone whose availability resembles the schedule of Escondido Union School District, as most of our camps are in collaboration with their Expanded Learning Program. Current Camp Sessions Planned are: Summer 2024 week 1: June 10-14Summer 2024 week 2: June 17-21Fall 2024: November 25-27Spring 2025: April 14-18Summer 2025: June 16-20

    • Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates on camp activities, addressing any concerns or questions, and soliciting feedback to improve the overall camp experience.
    • Budget Management: Manage the camp budget effectively, overseeing expenses, tracking revenue, and making strategic decisions to maximize resources and achieve financial goals.
