About You

As a Building Engineer, you are a technical expert familiar with maintenance systems and equipment, bringing strong organizational skills and a customer-centric approach.

You will be responsible for all preventative maintenance, necessary maintenance and repairs to building mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring efficient operations and safety of clients and properties.

You'll respond to client requests, prioritize and assign work orders, and follow up to minimize downtime. With a working knowledge of life safety, fire protection and security systems, you'll ensure proper operations and act upon any conditions that require attention.

You understand how to develop and maintain relationships with property managers, suppliers and department leaders, managing multiple priorities and reports, including inventory, records and schedules.

This Role Includes:

Maintaining daily operating logs for air conditioning, fan units, graph charts, utility meters and general complaints.
Coordinating contractor, tenant and management approvals for work orders.
Demonstrating clear understanding of operating procedures and proper chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.

What You'll Bring

You should have:

At least 3 years' experience in building/property maintenance or engineer experience preferable within commercial buildings.
CFC Certification (or ability to obtain).
Solid working knowledge of HVAC systems/maintenance, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems and other building mechanical equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel).
Flexibility to respond to after-hours / weekend emergency requests.
A valid driver's license.
Clear motor vehicle record (MVR).

Bonus Skills and Experience

Holding necessary/required licenses based on building and jurisdictional requirements, strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent communications skills.
