    Job Summary:As a PET/CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures using Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) technologies. This role involves working closely with patients, operating sophisticated imaging equipment, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Your expertise in PET and CT imaging contributes to the diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of various medical conditions.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Patient Interaction: Interact with patients to explain imaging procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort during the examination.
    • Imaging Procedures: Perform PET and CT scans according to established protocols. Administer radiopharmaceuticals for PET scans as needed.
    • Equipment Operation: Operate and calibrate PET and CT scanners, ensuring optimal image quality. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions as necessary.
    • Image Reconstruction and Analysis: Reconstruct and analyze PET and CT images to provide detailed anatomical and functional information.
    • Radiation Safety: Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself. Monitor and minimize radiation exposure during imaging procedures.
    • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of imaging equipment. Perform routine maintenance and participate in equipment quality assurance programs.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, imaging procedures, and results. Enter data into the radiology information system (RIS) or picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation of imaging results.
    • Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in PET and CT technology, attend training programs, and participate in continuing education activities.
    • Compliance: NM Techs are responsible for ensuring compliance with CA DPH regulations and adhering to the rules and regulations of the assigned hospitals and/or clinics. This encompasses maintaining licensures, participating in required trainings, and overseeing tasks such as retrieving medical records to uphold regulatory standards.

    Qualifications:
    • Certification from a recognized accrediting body, such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
    • CA DPH State License
    • Venipuncture and Fluoroscopy Certification
    • Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
    • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers.
    • Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
    • Current Annual Health Clearance
    • Reliable source of transportation
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Possible floating between facilities (separate days)
