    Description

    Cook Position at a Residential Apartment Building

    The Cook plays a vital role in managing the kitchen operations for a 76-unit residential apartment building.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious Association meals.
    • Ensuring meal service.
    • Managing inventory.
    • Compliance with Health Department regulations.
    • Supervising dishwashers.
    • Ordering food and kitchen supplies.
    • Maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards.
    • Cleaning and organizing kitchen, dining room, and storage areas.
    • Participating in Association activities and leading assigned tasks.
    • Following safety protocols and health regulations.
    • Facilitating communication among staff members.
    • Scheduling and training kitchen staff.
    • Providing feedback and guidance to the team.
    • Adhering to Association policies.
    • Acting as a positive role model for recovery and wellness.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Hold a valid Food Handler's Permit from the Tulsa City/County Health Department.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience as a full-service cook.
    • Experience in program housing or working with individuals with mental illness is a plus.
    • Practice basic safety measures and use appropriate safety equipment.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Work in a climate-controlled environment.
    • Average noise level with residential background sounds.
    • Report any environmental hazards encountered.
    • Flexible work schedule.
    • Good oral communication skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Visual and auditory alertness to identify potential hazards.
    • Physical stamina for extended periods of standing and walking.
    • Proper use of equipment.
