    Activities include Portfolio Analysis, Risk, Trading, Operations, and Sales & Marketing.

    Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Technology also provides holistic support and quality assurance across the suite of applications used in the MSIM environment.


    Role Description:


    Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology in Boston offers a challenging opportunity to be part of a highly specialized business analyst cum support group supporting the Portfolio Managers and Equity/Multi-Asset Trading Desks.

    The Solutions team is a client focused IT team responsible for supporting core business processes covering portfolio construction, order generation, order management, trade execution, trade confirmation and trade settlement.

    This role requires an individual with strong business and technical knowledge to support Front Office applications and electronic trading applications as well as deliver on critical business driven projects and initiatives.

    A solid understanding of Financial Instruments, Portfolio construction and Trade lifecycle is essential to the role.

    Qualifications:


    Primary skills:

    • Primary point of contact with Front-Office Business Users (Portfolio Managers, Traders etc.)
    • Strong understanding of Equity/Derivatives/FX trade life cycle, electronic trading, FIX and accounting.
    • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Charles River IMS (CRD) or comparable OMS
    • Must be team oriented and work well within a global team
    • Must be selfsufficient, be accountable and act like an owner of IT related issues handled by the team
    • Good analytical, problem solving skills coupled with strong communication skills
    • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
    • Responsible for managing Incidents, major incident, problem and change management related activities
    • Advanced business analysis experience in front office application space which mostly includes requirement gathering, documentation, writing and executing test cases, develop new workflows
    • Advanced Database/SQL (Sybase preferred) skills ability to write stored procedures
    • Hands on experience with operating systems like UNIX/LINUX
    • Advanced understanding and ability to write scripts in Perl, Shell, Python
    • Batch job scheduling tools like Autosys or Tidal

    Preferred skills:

    • Understanding of core Java, .Net, C#, SOAP/Rest based architecture
    • Experience working on reporting tools like SSRS/Boxi/Tableau
    • Experience working with monitoring tools like Splunk, Appdynamics and be able to set up alerts
    • Exposure to Agile methodology

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree / 5-8 years of financial services experience
