    Position Summary:
    Functions as an independent practitioner in support of the section physician(s) by managing own voice and swallowing patient population.
    Provides specialty focus which includes additional training and expertise in Laryngology and associated procedures.

    Develops and implements individual voice and swallowing related patient care plans, provides voice and/or dysphagia therapy and continuing care to patients.

    Under supervision of the attending physician, performs in-office voice and swallowing related procedures.

    Participates in program development by representing Emory University and the Emory Voice Center at local, state, national, and international conferences and meetings.

    Participates in or leads the development and presentation of voice and/or swallowing related research projects which contribute toward improved patient care and accomplishment of the academic mission.

    Trains Speech Language Pathology (SLP) students rotating through the practice as a part of their academic requirements.
    Participates in training clinical fellows in all aspect of working independently with an Otolaryngology caseload. Performs research in the voice and swallowing evaluation and treatment.

    Education/Qualifications/Licensures:
    A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
    Current licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Georgia.
    Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
    One year of Speech-Language Pathology experience.
    Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
    Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
