    Machine Reliability Engineer II

    The Machine Reliability Engineer II is responsible for designing and leading the reliability centered maintenance procedures and processes for all Niagara's fixed assets. This includes working with the plant and their respective vendors to ensure all maintenance related metrics and projects are maintained and completed and provide reliability centric solutions to all opportunities identified.

    • Develop systems for machine reliability and lead reliability centered asset care audits for manufacturing facilities across all Niagara plants.
    • Lead onsite visits for audits and ensure compliance with OEM recommended maintenance procedures by evaluating plant maintenance practices.
    • Lead audit analysis and organize audit close out presentations and educate the plant maintenance team on non-conformances observed during audit.
    • Perform FMEA and RCA with plant team members as per criticality analysis and propose reliable solutions. Deliver recommendations to plant teams to improve maintenance practices and machine condition.
    • Lead implementation of safety policies, correct lubrication procedures and best PM practices across all plants. Facilitate CI initiatives to enhance process sustainability.
    • Evaluate the asset care audit system to ensure sustainability and ensure improvements in process.
    • Lead the process to determine the function, capability, functional failure modes, probability of failure, impact severity and acceptable risk for assets to define the right maintenance requirements to eliminate failures and their effects.
    • Supervise appropriate follow up recommendations and actions from the inspection program of assets.
    • Lead the process to Identify and implement opportunities for improvement of Asset Health to optimize machine uptime.
    • Lead maintenance tasks aligned with the reliability improvement: link active machine downtime causes with PM assessment and revision, Inventory Reduction, RCA, RCM, 5Why, 5S, and Reliability Centered Maintenance skills improvement using reliability knowledge.
    • Review and evaluate self-audits submitted by plant teams across the Niagara network.
      • Lead data analysis for machine availability and OEE to identify issues related to line performance and collaborate with plant and OEMs to trouble shoot these issues for improved line performance.
      • Perform data review and analysis for highlighted non-conformances and link opportunities to machine downtime and parts consumption
      • Identify root cause of top failures and recommend solutions or best practices to correct issues and prevent repetition.
      • Follow up with plant teams to develop and maintain action plans for each opportunity, ensure corrective actions stay along proper timeline.
      • Develop a system to correlate plant self-audits with Asset Reliability conducted audits, identify any gaps present and work with plant teams to minimize.
    • Lead execution of preventive maintenance (PM) program for all production lines within Niagara.
    • Supervise process to establish preventive maintenance scripts/tasks for given equipment.
    • Verify maintenance instructions as per actual equipment configuration/format at the facility and provide go ahead for upload in the system.
    • Conduct onsite visits to validate the equipment maintenance instructions with plant's and OEM feedback.
    • Establish strong communication between plants and OEM to accomplish process requirements.
    • Engineer II - Machine Reliability is estimated to travel 50-80%
      • International travel is required

    Competencies and Skills

    • Some knowledge of plastics, PET processing, blow-molding, filling and packaging process, operation and Maintenance of all Food/Beverage production equipment is preferred.
    • Proficiency in, but not limited to:
      • Microsoft Office Applications -Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, etc.
      • Efficiency improvement tools, CAPA process tools, WO management tools (ORACLE) etc.
    • Experience with reliability techniques such as RCA, FMEA, 5D, 5 WHYs, Reliability Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Tolerance and Worst-Case Analyses, Maintenance-induced failures etc.
    • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
    • Basic understanding of data acquisition and processing tools and techniques
    • Able to translate data into recommendable actions to senior management
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Self-motivated with a proven record of taking initiative
    • Able to work with minimal supervision
    • Detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment
    • Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce
    • Strong planning and organization skills, ability to multi-task

    Qualifications

    • Required:
      • 2 year+ - Experience in the Plastics Industry or other related field
      • 2 year+ - Experience in Similar Position including maintenance and reliability experience

    • Preferred:
      • 4+ years - Experience in Bottling / injection molding industry experience, experience with reliability engineering and continuous improvement projects
      • 4+ years - Experience in Similar Position including machine reliability experience

    Education

    • Minimum Required:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related fields or equivalent experience
    • Preferred:
      • Master's Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering

    Typical Compensation Range

    Pay Rate Type: Salary$84, $122,289.00 / Yearly
