Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for identifying, loading, and shipping customer orders in a timely manner.

The Material Handler will receive inventory into the warehouse, collaborating with internal departments making sure the proper materials are being shipped accurately.

Job Functions:
Ensure daily equipment inspections are completed before use. Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials against purchase orders or invoices. Prepare materials for shipments including packaging, labeling and loading onto delivery vehicles. Inspect received freight for damages or missing items; report any damages or missed items to Supervisor. Secure packaging for shipping (shrink wrap, band etc.); secure loading in truck (wood, nail gun). Tag freight with proper labels. Responsible for getting drivers to sign delivery notices and shipping documents. Proper handling and routing of documents. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks. Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and cycle counts. Keep inventory, loading areas and machinery clean. Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.

Operate tractors, excavators, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as needed to move items or materials onto and off trucks, flatbed and loading docks.

Perform and participate in Kaizen, 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices. Collaborate with team for process improvement withing the warehouse and logistics department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with operating wheeled equipment. Experience with inventory management software and system.

Lifting requirements:
Regular and reliable attendance is required. Job Qualifications 18+ years old. A valid driver's license. Some schedule flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, early mornings, or evenings. A minimum of one year of experience in warehouses or manufacturing environment. Highly detail oriented. Being able to operate a handheld scanner quickly and accurately to find items. Read and understand the shipping documents. Strong English oral and written communication skills. Computer and typing skills, including Microsoft Outlook and other related software. The ability to run various types of propane or electric-powered forklifts and clamp trucks.
