PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provides psychological services including counseling, assessment, and consultation services to assist in meeting the educational, social, and emotional needs of pupils

RESPONSIBILITIES:

UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A LICENSED SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST Reviews cumulative records and/or work samples that are relevant for the understanding of the pupil's: health, growth development and educational history; level of adaptive, social, and/or behavioral skills; interventions that have occurred in the general education setting; basic psychological processes; and intellectual abilities.

Interviews pupils, parents/guardians, and teachers to gather information. Assesses and observes pupils in classroom or other settings. Organizes data and develops written reports on pupils to be presented to individualized Education Program (IEP) team. Interprets test findings to parents in an understandable manner. Counsels pupils in an individual and/or small group setting regarding academics, social, emotional development, and/or general vocational goals. Participates in school crisis team. Participates in the Student Study Team (SST) meetings. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree; Current enrolment in a graduate level internship program approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing; Internship credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing upon the recommendation of the university; University clearance to begin internship; Knowledge of like/similar communities;

Personal Qualities:

Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prepare clear, accurate, and timely written and oral reports; interpret, apply, and explain legal and procedural requirements; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others; communicate and interact effectively and professionally under pressure.

Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

SALARY:
$24,000.00 Annual Stipend

WORK YEAR:
5 Days per Week/194 days per year
