Experience Requirements
- Proven track record managing a portfolio of distressed, criticized, or classified loans across both commercial and residential sectors
- Hands-on experience developing and executing workout strategies, including restructures, forbearances, deed-in-lieu negotiations, and liquidation plans
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex collateral packages, multi-lien positions, and cross-defaulted or cross-collateralized loan relationships
- Experience collaborating with internal and external counsel on foreclosures, litigation strategy, bankruptcy actions, and collateral recovery
- History of resolving high-complexity loan issues, including those involving multiple guarantors, impaired collateral, or legal disputes
- Strong negotiation experience with borrowers, guarantors, attorneys, and third-party stakeholders
- Experience preparing quarterly problem loan reports, including accurate credit grading, trend analysis, and regulatory-ready documentation
- Ability to perform liquidation analysis, including collateral valuation, recovery projections, and cost-to-liquidate assessments
- Demonstrated ability to review lender-liability clauses, identify legal exposure, and structure actions to avoid lawsuits and minimize legal expenses
- Experience managing legal costs, coordinating with counsel efficiently, and ensuring actions taken are defensible, well-documented, and compliant with policy and law

- Willingness to travel for site inspections, borrower meetings, or legal proceedings
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in commercial and residential lending, credit administration, special assets, or loan workout roles
Core Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Extensive understanding of commercial and residential loan structures, underwriting, and risk assessment
- Deep expertise in all major collateral types, including real estate (commercial, residential, construction, investment, owner-occupied), UCC-secured collateral (inventory, accounts receivable, general intangibles, fixtures), equipment and machinery, security agreements, guarantees, cross-collateralization, and multi-lien structures
- Strong command of loan documentation, including notes, deeds of trust, security agreements, UCC filings, and guaranty agreements
- Thorough knowledge of foreclosure processes, bankruptcy chapters, receiverships, and lender remedies
- Ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash-flow models, appraisals, title reports, and environmental assessments
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations (FDIC, OCC, CFPB) and internal credit policy standards
- Proficiency with loan servicing systems, financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
