Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health
Schedule:
- 5 x 8hour day shifts
Requirements:
- 1 year healthcare experience (6 months may be acceptable)
- Epic experience required
- MA-C certification required (MA-R NOT accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Familiarity with healthcare terminology
- Clinical skills: vitals, venipuncture, UA/clean catch, glucometer, immunizations, TB test administration, hearing/vision screening, nebulizer treatments, suture removal, telephone triage, prescription refill support
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Room patients and take vital signs
- Conduct hearing and vision screenings
- Perform telephone triage and manage patient refill/pharmacy calls
- Assist with prior authorizations and processing inbasket referrals
- Collect and label specimens
- Administer immunizations and nebulizer treatments
Compliance / Notes:
- Candidate must have reliable personal transportation
- Submission of 3 interview times (with time zone) is required
- References: Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
- Nondisclosure of prior employment with Providence will result in a DNR
