    Job Overview (All Shifts)

    The Retail Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of the property's Sundry & Gift shop – Essentials - ensuring that departmental goals and objectives are met with special emphasis on product selection and merchandising.

    Duties And Responsibilities

  • Projects a positive image at all times
  • Greets all guests and Team Members
  • Recruits hotel staff, screens applicants and conducts auditions for employment
  • Actively coaches, mentors and develops team members
  • Monitors departmental service levels ensuring that standards are met
  • Manages departmental expenses ensuring budgetary margins are maintained
  • Actively utilizes and trains team members in the use of multiple Software Applications used in Casino Operations
  • Acts as "Manager on duty" representing the hotel in resolving guest conflicts
  • Keeps staff informed of all pertinent information
  • Liaise with other departments as operational issues arise
  • Conducts inventory at the close of each period
  • Formulates pricing policies for merchandise, according to profitability requirements
  • Estimates consumer demand and determine types and amounts of goods to be sold
  • Examines merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and properly displayed
  • Plans and coordinates sales promotions; Ensures that team members are actively selling products
  • Ensures that transactions are properly recorded
  • Creates work schedules; Administers payroll
  • Monitors retail space to ensure it is clean, in order and well maintained
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
    Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)
  • High School diploma or GED– required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field AND two (2) years Retail/Buyer Supervisory experience– required
  • OR Four (4) years' experience in a Retail/Buyer Management position– required

  • OR Three (3) years' experience in a Retail/Buyer or Hotel Supervisory position with Wind Creek Hospitality– required

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft applications– Word, Excel, and Outlook (a skills test will be administered, and candidate must score at least 70%)- required
  • Must be able to type 20 words per minute- required

  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required (skills test will be administered)
  • Experience in customer relations or guest services
  • Must be able to learn and work with various Software Applications (including Web-based applications)
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shift
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment – phones, computers, etc.
  • Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to pass a physical fitness test if administered
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
