    The Environmental Services Aide performs routine cleaning tasks for an assigned area according to established hospital policies and procedures.


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Experience

    Preferred:
    Prior related experience

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    Able to read/write to be able to follow written instructions and communicate with others as needed.

    Testing
    Must pass the Physical Capacity Exam (PCE). This exam includes a 50-pound lifting requirement.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    Essential

    Cleans and disinfects all patient, public and employee areas of the Kaweah Health according to assignment.

    Performs high and low dusting, cleans basins, tubs, toilets, showers, window, walls, doors. Cleans all furnishings and equipment. Cleans and replaces cubicle/window curtains and blinds. Ensures that supply dispensers are clean and well stocked. Cleans all equipment and takes to proper area for storage or pick-up.

    Cleans entrances, patios, and stairways and public restrooms daily according to assignment. Scrubs surfaces as needed.

    Cleans and makes beds.

    Maintains all hard floor surfaces, dust/wet mop daily. Cleans baseboards and corners daily.


    If applicable:
    buffs all floors on a rotating basis, strips and waxes floors as needed.

    Maintains carpeted floors, vacuuming and cleaning edges and corners daily.


    If applicable:
    shampoos and extracts carpets as needed.

    Cleans furniture. Maintains upholstered furniture, vacuum/shampoo as needed.

    Maintains chemical dispensing system, stocks supplies in assigned areas.

    Removes trash/biohazard waste/cardboard on a daily basis. Cleans trash carts as needed.

    May set up meeting rooms/equipment as assigned.

    BRODERICK ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR:
    Assists patients to the bathroom and attends toileting as needed. Records refrigerator temperatures daily, defrosts refrigerators weekly. Stocks rooms for incoming surgical patients at the time of cleaning. Offer patients movies, CD's, food and drinks after checking with diet order. Clears dishes and record intake as needed. Scrubs showers. Participates in team building exercises and change projects.

    Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Pay Range
    $20.00 -$30.00
