    Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance Operations, the Finance Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with the Finance Operations and Accounting teams and providing the support needed for both teams' effective operations.

    The tasks will include vendor verification, Form 1099 filing process, corporate credit card management, and compliance reporting/requirements at state and federal levels.

    This position is an excellent opportunity for a Junior finance and accounting professional to experience a wide range of the finance departments operations.

    The ideal candidate is a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for the mission and a desire to grow in all aspects of financial operations within a non-profit setting.

    This position will receive direct guidance from the Assistant Director of Accounting for the accounting team-related tasks.


    Responsibilities:


    Finance Operations Team ResponsibilitiesSupport corporate credit card management for over 200 cardholders, including processing new card requests, managing limit increases, and preparing analytical reports.

    Handle State sales tax exemption and charity solicitation registration as needed, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

    Monitor independent contractors for mandatory state and federal reportingHandle multi-state independent contractor compliance reports by preparing Independent Contractors New Hire Compliance Submission as mandated by NYS Child Support Agency on a monthly basis.

    Handle other compliance reports and requirements.
    Accounting Team ResponsibilitiesHandle vendor verification process for all annual Form 1099 process.

    Research 1099 eligible vendor information to verify Tax Identification Numbers [TIN] and Name combinations with the IRS database to obtain successful TIN matches.

    Obtain information for legal name, DBA name, Tax ID#, email, address changes, and tax classification in preparation for 1099s.
    Review W9s and additional documentation in Salesforce.
    Contact vendors via email or phone to research those with continued TIN match issues.
    Generate W-9s e-requests to vendor via for updated info.
    Update information in , NetSuite, and Salesforce systems after a successful TIN match.
    Update un-matched TIN vendors in Salesforce and NetSuite to block vendors.
    Support the annual 1099 Tax Form processing in compliance with IRS regulations.
    Assist the Accounting Team with Accounts Payable (AP) processes.
    Other ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Accounting team and Finance Operations team to streamline processes and improve efficiency in finance operations.
    Backup responsibilities for other Finance staff as needed.

    Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance Operations and Assistant Director of Accounting.


    Qualifications:

    Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.1 to 3 years of related and progressive work experience in finance, accounting, and financial operations, preferably in a non-profit organization.

    Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for analysis and reporting.
    Experience with financial management software such as Nexonia and NetSuite is a plus.
    Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
    Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.


    Compensation:
