    Description


    The Senior Analyst's, Research and Evaluation, primary role is to support and/or direct the planning and implementation of research and evaluation studies to determine the efficacy of CMS initiatives and programs.

    To that end, analyst evaluates research proposals to ensure high-quality research is performed by external entities; plans and conducts innovative research projects to provide CMS stakeholders with information for use in decision-making; communicates orally and in writing the results of research projects to non-technical internal audiences; collaborates with public or private entities such as consultants, universities, etc.

    on related research initiatives; and constructs data files for use by external entities for the purpose of conducting evaluation and research activities.

    Overall, senior analyst supports the Research and Evaluation department's purpose of performing and utilizing research to inform district decision-makers about the efficacy of educational, instructional, and operational practices.


    Essential Duties:


    Designs and conducts comprehensive research and evaluation studies; extracts, collects, reviews and analyzes data; compiles, prepares and disseminates reports and studies.

    Coordinates four district wide surveys (parent, teacher, student, and principal).
    Produces reports using the district data warehouse.
    Utilizes descriptive and inferential statistics (ANOVA, HLM, SEM, etc) to summarize and analyze existing and collected data.

    Education and Experience:
    Minimum
    Master's Degree in Educational Research, Psychology, Sociology, or related field that emphasizes research and statistics
    Three years of experience in educational research and evaluation, survey design and deployment, or other areas requiring analytical skills
    Coursework in research design & methodology, statistics, testing and evaluation required
