Bit Reactor is in search of a Senior Lighting Artist to join us in exploring and expanding the Star Wars universe. Our game features diverse environments, memorable characters, and a rich and exciting story. Lighting naturally plays a huge role here, and we are looking for a Senior Lighting Artist to contribute their skills to help bring this world to life.

Responsibilities:

• In this role you will be responsible for lighting various levels and cinematics using Lumen in Unreal Engine 5.
• Establish base lighting for levels including skybox development.
• Work closely with other art disciplines to best execute on both the global color story and with emergent lighting tasks.
• Exercise ownership over volumetric fog, local fog placement, light rig development and reflections.
• Establish and maintain exposure values, color grading, and post process volumes.
• Work with the graphics engineers and technical artists to help maintain solid performance and offer more efficient workflows.
• Maintain a high level of creative problem solving and independence.

Qualifications:

• Experience in real time game lighting with an understanding of performance impact and gameplay.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of lighting, color theory, form, and value.
• Excellent sense of composition and color grading to bring the required look to life.
• 5 or more years of proven experience in game development.

Bonus:

• Experience working on a AAA title
• Experience working within Unreal Engine 4+

Candidates will be expected to provide a portfolio or demo reel of their work and may be asked to complete an art test.

Bit Reactor prefers to hire candidates who are willing to relocate to Hunt Valley, Maryland, but is open to remote options.
