OVERVIEW:

- Compensation: $1,500–$1,700 fixed pay, plus the rewarding experience of connecting international high school students with American host families.

The International Student Exchange (ISE) program is expanding and seeking a passionate, community-minded individual to join as an ISE Program Representative. This flexible, rewarding role is ideal for someone who loves connecting people, celebrating cultural friendships, and helping students from around the world experience life in the United States.
About the Role
As an ISE Program Representative, you'll help make cultural exchange possible by finding and supporting volunteer host families who open their homes to international high school students. You'll also play a key role in qualifying and preparing American high school students to participate in ISE's Outbound Study Abroad Program—whether for an academic year or a five-week summer experience in Europe or South America.
You'll work within your community to bring the world to your local public schools and help local students explore the world—creating friendships, understanding, and memories that last a lifetime.
Duties:
- Partner with Local Schools: Collaborate with public high schools to arrange placements for academic year exchange students.
- Recruit Volunteer Host Families: Find caring American host families who are excited to share their home, family dinners, and traditions with an exchange student from around the world.
- Match Students and Families: Pair well-screened international students and volunteer host families based on shared interests, hobbies, and lifestyles to ensure a great fit.
- Provide Ongoing Support: Stay connected with exchange students and host families throughout the school year, offering guidance, encouragement, and fun cultural activities.
- Promote Cultural Understanding: Represent ISE in your community by building awareness of the benefits of hosting and cultural exchange.
Our International Students:
ISE exchange students, ages 14–18, come from more than 40 countries across Europe, Asia, South America, and beyond. They're eager to experience American life—attend a local public high school, join sports teams, celebrate holidays, and share their own cultures and traditions.
Each student brings their own spending money and medical insurance. Volunteer host families provide a safe, welcoming home, meals, and the warmth of family life—helping students experience what it means to be part of an American community.
