    This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Civil Engineering, Engineering Services Division (SILC) in Miami, FL



    Duties


    This position serves as the Realty Specialist (Lead Real Property Specialist) and is responsible for a broad range of supervisory, technical, and administrative functions related to the agency's shore facilities throughout a region. Manage the region's real property portfolio, including owned, GSA-leased, agency's leased, permitting, licensing, etc., and guides real property asset management program decisions including the acquisition, disposal and overall management of real property owned, leased, or consigned to the Coast Guard.

    Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

    • Providing expert technical advice and guidance to top CG management as well as being the region's spokesperson for all Real Property matters with federal, state, local elected representatives and agencies and private organizations.
    • Planning, reviewing, and validating all aspects of realty acquisition projects for compliance with current regulations, budget limitations, operational requirements and appropriate realty interests.
    • Negotiating and executing long term complex leases and renewals for real property acquired by the Coast Guard.
    • Developing and negotiating out-leases of Coast Guard owned property, joint use and reimbursable interagency support agreements to grant use of CG real property to others.
    • Ensuring all real property transactions are completed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, Federal Property Management Regulations, Coast Guard Real Property Management Manual and all applicable regulations and realty practices.
