Description

The successful applicant will be performing work in FedRAMP High or IL-5 environments, and therefore, must be a U.S. Person (i.e. U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee). This position may also perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.

What You'll Do

The Cisco threat detection and response engineering team is looking for a strong and collaborative Software Engineer with energy and passion in the security space.

You'll be a key player in our engineering efforts to build and grow a cloud-based product that offers supplemental security with MS365 and protects end users from phishing, malware and unwanted spam.

You will develop solutions and tests for product features and integrations with a focus on simplicity, ease of use, and overall delight.

You will utilize your skills to enhance the value of our product through quality so that we can continuously create, develop, and deliver the best outcomes for our customers.

Who You'll Work With

As a Software Engineer, you will be a core member of a team composed of highly skilled individuals who are comfortable working in dynamic and technically sophisticated environments.

This product team is a small, highly performant group that has built this solution from the ground up and continues to grow the product through regular releases.

The team is involved in all stages of product life cycle from conception to development, go-to-market, and ongoing support of our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years' experience in the field of software development.
5+ years experience in coding using Python or Go programming languages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with both relational and non-relational persistent datastores such as MySQL, ElasticSearch, and DynamoDB.
Ability to develop modular code encompassing unit and integration tests.
Comprehensive understanding of software engineering principles and practices.
Proven experience in crafting and implementing REST APIs.
Understanding and experience with cloud architecture and distributed systems.
Knowledge of AWS cloud, including the development of serverless applications. Relevant certifications would be advantageous.
Experience in implementing security protocols and a proven understanding of data privacy principles.
Familiarity with the NIST security controls and the ability to implement these controls in product development.
Experience going through compliance process before, either internally or through a third party would be advantageous.
Training in SANS, CSA, or OWASP would be advantageous.
Knowledge and practice of DevOps, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code.
Prior experience of working in compact, highly skilled teams that use Agile/Scrum practices.
A dedication to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends.
