    Position Description
    This is a Non-Civil Service position with Metro Action Commission.

    Assist in the organization's success through creation and delivery of training designed with leadership, management, business, personal progression, and best practice in mind.

    Expand on the talents and skills across all employees within the organization.

    Uphold the Mission, Vision and Core values of the MAC including exemplary internal and external customer service, teamwork, and treatment of all persons with respect, dignity, and compassion.

    Typical Duties

    • Create training programs that are aligned with the organization's objectives.
    • Act as the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans.
    • Responsible for onboarding training and orientation of new team members.
    • Work closely with various leaders across the organization and have a full understanding of their units and training requirements.
    • Embrace different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, tutorial sessions, or coaching.
    • Have an awareness of the allocated budget and an ability to find solutions in order to implement the required training.
    • Build relationships with third party training providers.
    • Design staple curriculums for all employees.
    • Develop and maintain organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
    • Track trainings and conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
    • Modify training programs as needed.
    • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
    • Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
    • Complete other duties as assigned.
    SUPERVISION EXERCISED/SUPERVISION RECEIVED
    This is a non-supervisory classification.

    This classification works under direct supervision of the Administrative Services and Operations Director as well as the indirect supervision of the Executive Director.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    This classification works primarily in an office setting under generally favorable working conditions. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in business or related field and five (5) years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.

    LICENSES REQUIRED:
    Valid Driver License is required for this position.
    Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.

    SO All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

    Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Must have good communication skills and a strong passion to assist people with their learning and development.
    • Experience in e-learning course design and budget management are desirable.
    • Proven people management skills.
    • Experienced in the following:
    management, development and talent training, designing and supplying a variety of training styles.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    Shall be a resident of the State of Tennessee or become a resident of the state within six (6) months of employment with the Metropolitan Government.
