    Job Title: Sous Chef

    The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations at Urbana Country Club. This position requires a dedicated professional with a refined palate, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for culinary excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Culinary Leadership: Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
    • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and seasonal menus reflecting the Club's commitment to culinary excellence.
    • Team Management: Lead and inspire the culinary team, providing mentorship, training, and development to ensure a cohesive kitchen operation.
    • Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control measures, including portion sizes, presentation, and overall food preparation.
    • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory, ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food products, ensuring cost control and minimizing waste.
    • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean work environment.
    • Event Coordination: Work closely with the Events and Catering team to execute high-end events.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-end kitchen, with at least 2 years in a leadership role as a Sous Chef or equivalent.
    • Education: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training required.
    • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage a team effectively.
    • Creativity: Passion for creating exceptional dishes with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
    • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and international cuisine.

    Compensation:

    $80,000 - $110,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
