    Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) for School Year in Concord, CA

    As an SLP, you will play a crucial role in supporting the communication needs of high school students, primarily focusing on the 9th grade population. You will work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, and communication disorders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities and identify areas of need.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results and collaborate with IEP teams to ensure alignment with students' educational objectives.
    • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or small group settings, targeting areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, language comprehension, expression, and pragmatics.
    • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and activities to address students' speech and language goals, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
    • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support students' communication needs in the classroom and across educational settings.
    • Provide consultation, training, and support to school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to promote communication development and facilitate generalization of skills.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork in compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities to contribute to the development of comprehensive educational plans and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Current license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California (CCC-SLP preferred).
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
    • Previous experience working with school-aged children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
    • Strong understanding of speech and language development, disorders, and therapy techniques.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
    • Dedication to providing high-quality, evidence-based speech and language services to support students' academic and social-emotional success.
